JANUARY:

New Years Day- "Polar Bear Plunge"-Parker- Registration 10:00 am - Riverstone. Plunge at 1:00- Parker Boat Launch. Proceeds benefit local charities.

FEBRUARY:

8th- "Franklin on Ice" 10:00 am- Enjoy the creation of beautiful ice works of art in Fountain Park. Franklin is showcased in grand style for this event. At night the ice art is lighted to create beautiful master pieces. ( info- 814-437-1619)

ALSO 3RD "Nature Art Showcase" - 10am- 6pm. -Barrow Civic Theatre- Sponsored by The GreenWay and Trails Council- artwork for sale and show representing nature from the Oil Region Valley.

 15th- Barnard House- " Valentine Breakfast" share breakfast after a cozy evenings stay in the Barnard House along the river with your loved one. Created to share with a loved one!

22nd- 13th Annual Oil Country Bluegrass Festival- Oil City Moose Club-Doors open at 11am.- 12am

Don Ras is a local chef who shares his talents with the valley. Chef Don attended the Le Cordon Bleu of Pittsburgh. Chef Don specializes in global cuisine with an approachable twist for the American palate.His true passion for local and seasonal ingredients are found in every dish he creates.

All month long- The Barnard House plans their Heirloom Gardens- share in conversation and view the 2020 planting guide that Cathy creates. LETS TALK Eatables! Many flats of heirloom vegetables, herbs and flowers are grown for the gardens and the enjoyment of flavor, texture and garnish. We bring the gardens to our guest in bouquets in room and breakfast each morning. 

3-4 SPRING CRAFT SHOW at Reminisce Event Center- Emlenton- local artist and crafters collect wonderful items - food, crafts and fun!

"GARDEN Magic"- an intimate Full course Tea / Luncheon that features beautiful tablescapes and MANY LOCAL FARMS and  LOCAL businesses :) (details of attending businesses will soon be listed) creating a unique and very intimate setting for 22 in our 1883 home along the river with foods, products and services ALL brought fresh to our guest. This hallmark event is created to showcase the wonderful small businesses and LOCAL Farms of the region. Dine with beautiful vintage china and linens surrounding you in creativity while soft acoustical guitar serenades you. Feel the passion of your journey through our collective presenters with talents to lure your inner spirits to PEACE, in a beautiful garden setting. Artistic expression, workshops and circles. Visit for the day or spend a beautiful relaxing evening.

INCLUDES:

   *  Morning Greetings on the Trail Garden Patio featuring a lovely light early summer tea blend from,"Summer Song Gardens." Grown locally and blended by Linda Strawbridge. (Packaged Teas will be available for cash sale!!!!) ( Linda Strawbridge has a lifetime of experience in organic gardening and foraging natural plants for Teas and food. Recently retired Linda is exploring one of her passions- homemade TEAS!)

   *  "Yoga with Sara" This workshop features, Slow Flow Yoga.This style is more gentle and designed to open the body while introducing balance and steady breath. Sara will move mindfully throughout the practice and end with restorative postures and stillness of the mind. (Sara is a 200 hour certified Yoga teacher. She shares her practice throughout the valley. Creating classes that are accessible to all. Sara's hopes are that her classes will help restore your entire being....mind, body and soul!)

  *   Intuitive Painting with Soulstice Intuitive Healing- this workshop combines meditation and painting to provide a no judgement no expectation space to reconnect to the creative force within. No painting experience is necessary.We will explore techniques with acrylic paint, paper and decoupage, stencils and stamps. ALL supplies are included but feel free to bring an apron or painting shirt. ( Gina Matthews and Liza Say created Soulstice: Intuitive Healing -  to provide a holistic and intuitive approach for health and well being. Gina and Liza work together to educate, empower and support others on their journey to physical,emotional and spiritual wellness. They offer workshops, Reiki, mediaition and mindful sessions- visit their new STUDIO in The Transit Building, Oil City.)

  * Music to be serenaded by "JT" - throughout the day! JT has a broad spectrum of talents in music from percussion to guitar. He has been a member of many bands featured in some of Pittsburghs best venues. 

  *  Luscious Local Lunch by Little It Deli- " Chicken Veronique" on a bed of fresh greens with a White Lemon Balsamic Reduction. Chicken by local "Gruber's Farm." (Julie Powell is the co owner of "Little It Deli" located in Emlenton. Julie has years of experience in restaurant and catering on various platforms. Her recipes are created with the freshest ingredients with a passion for food, family and community.)

  *  "The Relaxation Response" by "Sacred Centered You"- Lesa Vivio. The Relaxation Response- chronic stress can wreak havoc on our over all health. The reality of the situation is unavoidable in our current existence. Ongoing exposure to chronic stress can cause, or exacerbate many serious health conditions. In this mini workshop, we will discuss the body's response to chronic stress, as well as experience several exercises to combat this in our daily lives. We expect you to leave this discussion more relaxed and refreshed, as well as informed. ( Lesa Vivio is the founder and director of Sacred Centered You and Dr. Lillians Ronzio's School of Holistic Health, as well as a licensed professional counselor, practicing in California, Pa.)

   *  Closing Circle - guest are encouraged to join in for refreshments and nibbles as we reflect on our day.

10,11, 12 "Emlenton Summerfest" THe festival has been cancelled BUT the Fireworks will fill the valley at dark on Saturday!

EMLENTON's Summerfest- Old time festival celebrations- from Frog Jumping, foods, fireworks, classic cars, parades, strawberry festival etc. Spans the entire town over 3 days! FIREWORKS fill the valley over the river.

Our gardens are filled with fantastic flowers, herbs, vegetables to share with our guest. Its harvest season so Pumpkins fill the porches and Sunflower loom along the porch.

COLORS of the Valley! Come enjoy the fall colors along the river! 

 

 

All month long at The Barnard House- " Ghost Stories" pull up a chair and sit a spell! Cathy will share the stories handed down for generations. 

Sunday 7th- Foxburg's Fall Festival- Food, Art n Wine! Enjoy the day along the river surrounded by art, food and wine!
